With the Grace and Blessings of our most beloved Swami, a temple dedicated to Bhagawan was inaugurated in Subhash Nagar near Clementown Dehradun on 17th of May 2011.
Sai brothers and sisters of Dehradun had been celebrating Bhagawan’s Birthday for past many years at a plot belonging to Sri Naresh Dheer an ardent devotee of Bhagawan. When Bhagawan willed to move to Sri Sathya Sai Super Hospital in March, Mr Dheer was inspired to build a Sri Sathya Sai temple at this site and he started planning for it. In April when our most beloved Lord decided to leave His beautiful Sagun Form, and adorn His eternal Nirgun (Formless) Form, Br Dheer felt it is already late and the task must be completed at the earliest. Work commenced and building of SRI SATHYA SAI TEMPLE was completed in a record time which was inaugurated on 17th of May on the Auspicious occasion of Budha Poornima.
Two priests were specially flown from Puttaparthi for guidance and to perform auspicious ceremony 0n 14th May. Priests guided all the activities in a befitting manner. Inaugural ceremony started with Omkar Suprabhatam and Nagar Sankirtan. Later Veda Chanting, Hawan and Pran pratistha ceremonies were performed. Large No of devotees and public persons participated. On this occasion Idols of Lord Ganesha, Shiva, Sirdi Sai, Durga, and Maruti were installed. Bhagawan’s Blessings are being experienced regularly in the temple particularly during daily morning Bhajan sessions as Bhagawan drops flowers regularly. It is invariably experienced that rain stops during Nagar Sankirtan. On one of the occasions devotees decided to do Bhajan in the temple itself as it had been raining, however as Ganesha Bhajan was in progress rains stopped.
Temple committee has planned various Spiritual and Service activities as per Bhagawan’s guidelines. Human Values classes for children are being held every Sunday.
